Tino learned to read and started to really enjoy it by listening to others read to him. Growing up he was surrounded by teachers and family members who helped guide him to be the reader and writer that he is today. He remembers his Dad especially inspiring creativity and even more than that, a passion for learning new things through reading. Reading has always fascinated Tino, the way an author can captivate an audience just through written word has been a huge part of why he feels so creative today.
When Tino first started realizing the opportunities reading could give him it wasn't until after he started middle school. This being said, Tino was introduced to harder reading levels by his fifth grade teacher Mr. Fidler. Although Tino had already had a background in reading it wasn't until fifth grade that Tino started to have a real passion for reading.
Mr. Fidler had a real knack for getting students excited to read, his passion for storytelling was very contagious and through his class Tino began to really excel. Tino's parents noticed his interests in reading and writing early on and encouraged him to push himself to read whatever he could get his hands on. Tino's fifth grade year had him more passionate than ever, he went from a decent reader to a reader that would go through a book a day. Middle school caught up with Tino and although he doesn't read quite as fast as he used to, he does still have a deep passion for learning both hands on and through reading.
Writing for Tino wasn't always something he liked or even wanted to do. Writing to Tino is something that he feels goes hand in hand with reading. Reading was a skill that Tino learned to love rather than to see it as something he had to do, in the same way, Tino started to see writing in the same way. Going from being a reader to having to write through classes at school, Tino discovered that writing was much like reading for him. Writing for Tino was not only an adventure to a different place but also a way to challenge himself to create something other people could enjoy too. Storytelling is made easy when you have a creative mind and Tino has always been able to see the big picture whether it be through watching movies or reading a book, Tino was always interested in how and why something was made or written. Through reading and writing Tino became more and more passionate for storytelling and through that curiosity Tino fell in love with Film.
